A New Blog Entry

Chad tactfully reminded me that the last time I wrote on my blog was when I started my mission, which was the end of February. I think I'm doing good, because it isn't a year yet. Only 8 months. Just think of that! I'm done with 2/3 of my mission! (Yeah!)

You all already know the stuff I could blog about. I live in a hotel (just passed my 5-months' mark). Nothing remarkable about that.

•My neighbor with the dogs that barked all night checked out.
•The ones who cooked curry about 10 pm every night checked out.
•The one I have now just keeps his TV on most of the night.
•The toilet that spewed sewage in the bathtub and overflowed on to the floor in the middle of the night is fixed.
•The gremlin who used to bend the two edges of my license plate up has returned. They did it for a while, and then stopped when I stopped bending the license plate back to "normal." But they have started up again.
•The road construction is done on 13th east out in front of the hotel is finished. Only now I can't turn left onto 13th East.
•I am taking real estate courses so I can be a buyer's agent. I have to do 90 hours of class (which I take on line), and a couple of tests.
•"Any day now" I should hear about the house I am going to buy.
•I am going to Phoenix next month to see Cory and Ang's house.
•I went to Oregon last month.
•I am going to Florida the end of March.
•I wish everyone lived closer so I could see the grandkiddies more often! (and their parents....)

I guess I could take pictures of my "cell" (as Cory fondly calls it), but since I'm only here a little longer, maybe I won't do that.

One New Change in my Life

Well, I am going to the Bishop on Sunday to apply for my second Service Mission. I have been interviewed by them, and they want me to come. I will be working two days a week, 8 hours a day, at the Church Office Building as a receptionist in the building department. They are in charge of all the building going on in the church (except temples)——that is, wards, stake centers, seminaries and institutes. So I will be dealing with engineers, designers, interior design people, etc. They seem to be a really fun group of people, and I am excited to get going.

I guess I blew it!

So I was shopping in Shopko the other day for Rebecca's birthday (it was actually on Monday the 26th, even though it was not on your calendar....). While I was there, I found, much to my surprise, a collection of large clocks. I had been looking for a large clock to put over my fireplace, but on line I couldn't find one cheaper than in the hundreds of dollars.

Well, I found this 32" clock in Shopko, for $119. And to make it even more irresistible, it was 40% off! (±$70!) I thought it over, and decided to get it.




I understand that a similar idea had been brewing in some of your minds to get for my birthday. I'm sorry that I beat you to it. Since we all know that It's The Thought That Counts, please just consider that since you were all thinking about getting a clock, that will be sufficient for my birthday, and you're all off the hook!
