Well, it started in May of 1990—18 years ago. I am getting an offer on the house tomorrow night. The people who are buying it have wanted it since it went on the market last year. But now they are finally getting around to buying it (now that I am practically giving it away......). So in the next month or so, I might find myself living in a new(er) house.
So here's the question for all of you: at first I was trying to find a house that would be a good house for me (i.e., smaller, but with still enough space). I wanted space for my kids to come visit, and a big family room for giving showers and Christmas family parties——and a good-sized back-yard for grand-kids to come and play. But if none of the grand-kids are going to be around except once a year, then it will change the kind of house I am looking for. It seems like this is the trend we are moving towards. As soon as Jenny and Tyler move (maybe in the next month also), then it will be only me and Tasha who live in this area and she will be going away to college. So maybe I don't need a house big enough for people to come visit and stay with me. What do you all think?

As far as we are concerned, we will be taking our annual visit at least for the next 4 years but after that, who knows. I would never say that we were NEVER coming back but realistically, I also can't GUARANTEE that we absolutely, WILL be coming back to live in Salt Lake. A lot will depend on which way the wind blows us, wink wink. Part of me and a slightly bigger part of Angie really wants to come back so if the Lord is willing, it will happen.
Therefore, as far as your house is concerned, perhaps looking into some sort of condo might be a good option. You would still have access to the clubhouse for your large parties, you would have a massive yard the kids could go play in, you wouldn't have to worry about ground maintenance unless you wanted to, and snow removal would be a thing of the past.
Congrats on finally selling! How exciting for you!
A condo sounds like it isn't a bad way to go. Can you even find a small/modest house for 1-2 people that isn't older and falling apart? (I say that because mine is...) Either way, think of all the moneys you'll get at your garage sale 'cause you aint fitting all that junk in a smaller home!!!
I think it would be nice if you had a spare bedroom atleast (so if we're there we don't have to stay with the other family the WHOLE time...).
